Programs

Three ages. Three very different kinds of lessons.

A three-year-old needs songs and puppets. A fourth grader in immersion needs help with tonight's reading. A junior needs an AP score. Kendra has taught all three, and each program is built for exactly that stage.

For immersion families

Your kid is in Spanish immersion. You don't speak Spanish. That's fine.

Kendra was an immersion student from kindergarten through senior year, then taught in Portland Public Schools. She knows the curriculum, the reading levels, and the exact moment kids start hiding that they're behind. Sessions follow the real classwork, and you get a plain-English note after each one.

Questions

Things parents ask first

All questions
Isn't three too young for a tutor?

Not for this kind of session. Little Learners is play, not instruction: songs, books, puppets, and games, all in Spanish, with you nearby. Young children learn sounds and rhythm effortlessly before about age seven, so early exposure pays off for years. We keep sessions short and stop while it's still fun.

Do I need to speak Spanish to support my immersion kid?

No, and most immersion parents don't. That's exactly who this is for. Kendra bridges the gap between what the school expects and what you can help with at home, and she'll give you simple, specific ways to support the work between sessions.

What happens in the free consultation?

A 20-minute video call with you (and your child if they'd like). We talk about goals, school, personality, and schedule, and Kendra recommends a session length and plan. No pressure to book.

In-home or online: which is better?

Under about age eight, in-home works best. Older students do great online, and it's easier to fit around sports and activities. Many families mix both.
